David Dupuis
David Dupuis was born and raised in Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada. A psychiatric nurse by profession for thirty-five years, he began writing by keeping a hockey journal in his mid-teens.
In 1989, he began self-publishing historical books of his home town and region. He then got the chance of a lifetime to write a book about his hockey hero which culminated in his widely acclaimed hockey biography, "Sawchuk: The Troubles & Triumphs of the World's Greatest Goalie" in 1998 with Stoddart Publishing.
He would go on to co-author two other hockey biographies with L. waxy Gregoire, "Heart of the Blackhawks: The Pierre Pilote Story" and "The Red Kelly Story," which won the 2016 Ontario Speakers Book Award.
In 1978, the sudden death of newly-elected Pope John Paul I had a lasting effect on him. He instantly began a scrapbook collection about the papacy, but also started writing (in longhand!) a story about a boy destined to be last pope at the end of the world.
His fascination with local, world and Vatican and papal history, prophecy, fiction and saints, culminate in this intriguing, 8-book historical-fiction genre series that unfolds in our times.
David lives near his beloved town of Penetanguishene with his companion Susan.
